Therapy Assistants
L.E.A.R.N. works with families to establish home based Applied Behaviour Analysis programmes for children with autism and learning delays. We are seeking bright, energetic and dependable people who enjoy working with children, to train as therapy assistants.
As a therapy assistant, you have an opportunity to make a truly profound difference in a young child’s life and learn valuable teaching skills in the process.Training in a related field such as psychology or teaching is desirable, as is experience working with children who have autism. However, these qualifications are not essential if you have the intelligence, enthusiasm and dedication needed to learn and apply the skills required.
Therapy assistant positions are based in our centre in East Fremantle W.A., however much of the therapy occurs within the child's home environment. As a result, the position does require you to have a car and a valid driver's licence. You will be working with a team of dedicated therapists, psychologists and allied health professionals for a centre that is teaching children to learn in as natural a setting as possible.
To excel in this role you should have high energy levels, an outgoing personality, love working with kids and be passionate about changing lives. This is not a position that suits introverts.
